Change in the Rules

Okay, in the name of BALANCE (ya bunch a lushes)...

There is a change in the way that alcohol, and any drinks, is managed.

I know that alcohol is a large part of having fun, staying sane, and being somewhat balanced, so I am altering the way that we count it in our May Challenge.  Of course, I'm not going to make this easy!  We are all in this challenge because we need change.  Most of us, well, all of us, are looking forward to losing some weight and feeling good in a bathing suit this summer.  So, we need to make sure that we burn off the calories that we gain from our drinks.

This goes for all drinking - alcoholic drinks and soda.

You must burn off the drink calories that you bring in.  So, find out how many calories your drink has.  Then, go exercise to burn off that amount of calories.  Example, my glass of wine has 250 calories and my 30 minute run burned 350 calories, so I can afford that glass of wine plus some.  Obviously it's better to do the math (and exercise) before you drink.  Get it?

No double dipping!  If you are exercising for 20 minutes for one point, don't count that 20 minutes toward your calorie burnage.  Go do more!

This Challenge is about balance, getting healthy, and losing weight.  Alcohol and soda are loaded with empty calories that our body doesn't need (our mind does).  See how you do!  If you are losing the weight with each weigh in and are satisfied with your plan, then stick to it.  If you aren't, then re-think that glass!

Of course you don't have to do any of this on your cheat day or the one free drink that you get on your cheat meal.

I think this is a fair way to keep our lifestyles intack.  With the warmer weather and the celebrations that occur, we need to feel in control of our lives and actually live life to the fullest!

Cheers!
